Not sure what I was expecting from a Charlotte BBQ business taking up space in downtown Raleighwood, but it expectation were much better than the actual experience.

The pork was tender and moist, but way over sauced and mega spicy (for me). The meat should carry itself without the sauce masking its pork and smoke flavor. Unsure what the greasiness was rolling down my forearms from said BBQ, but it was quite unpleasant.
The slaw was surprisingly Eastern and the best part of the sandwich.
Had a side of burnt ends and only one piece was edible. Had a bite of my son’s beef brisket sandwich and that was the most enjoyable of the dishes.
The Mac and cheese was super dry and not sure what they’re thinking about that Brunswick stew. It’s a tad thicker than vegetable soup, but it all needs to cook down a whole lot more to be real stew. The potato pieces and corn kernels were overly al dente. What’s up with the oversized chunks of croutons in a Brunswick stew?
And don’t get me started on the room temperature draft beer. I’m sure it’s going to be popular among the ITB hipster crowd, so my never going back will leave an extra parking space for others to fight over.
