Second time to Grady's Barbecue in five months. The first sandwich I had from here was disappointing in very way and I was ready to write off the BBQ Legend. However, I am happy to report that today’s visit has me breathing a sigh of relief that the previous lunch stop was just an off day.
This sandwich right here was just this side of perfect. The aroma was breathtaking from the start. Moist, flavorful pork with saucy heat balanced well with the sweet slaw. Grady’s would be perfect if I was a bigger fan of pickle cubes in my slaw. The super sweet crunch throws me a bit and I’d rather the sweetness come from elsewhere.
All in all, it’s worth the side trip between here and wherever. 9/10
BTW - I have always heard the name Grady pronounced two different ways: Gray-dee and Grad-ee. I chatted a bit with Mrs. Grady and asked her how the family pronounces it and she said “Both.” So there you go. No definitive answer.
Happy ‘Cue, everyone!
